Golden Roots - United by friendship, Driven by purpose.

Updated: May 18, 2023

As the nation's elderly population continues to grow, many of us, especially those with aging parents, are becoming increasingly concerned about the lack of quality elder-care homes that provide comprehensive services for the community at large.

True friendship bond of 2 individuals who are transforming the elder care landscape

Adam and Pradeep firmly hold the belief that the Universe had better plans that had brought them together with a purpose. In early 2019, they coincidentally attended a property investment event, but it was not until the event concluded that they finally met and engaged in a conversation at the parking lot. From that moment onward, their understanding of one another deepened, leading them to embark on this intriguing yet interesting journey.

When prompted to share their story, it becomes even more captivating! Golden Roots opened their doors on the 15th of March 2020, only to face a nationwide lockdown just three days later as the Covid-19 outbreak unfolded. Having experienced Dementia within their own families, Adam and Pradeep deeply empathize with the challenges that families face when their loved ones fall ill. They understand the unique circumstances surrounding these conditions and that has become one of the strong factors that led to Golden Roots and its brand name becoming the talk of the town in less than a few months since its inception.

The duo also mentioned that their first few admissions were extremely challenging leading to sleepless nights as they were trying out and adjusting on manpower and at times were on night shifts themselves as there were residents that loiter around at 4am and refused to sleep! Adam further explained and laughed thinking back at the unforgettable experiences during the early stages of operating Golden Roots.

For families at home, the physically draining aspects of constant repetitive questions, negative conversations, mood swings, and bathing difficulties become significant challenges that take a toll on both the physical and emotional well-being of everyone living under the same roof day in and day out.

However, Golden Roots had emerged as a sanctuary committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and harmonious environment, where the elders are encouraged to socialize and live a life of dignity. Despite the challenges posed by a global pandemic, Golden Roots swiftly became a beacon of hope for seniors.

Their fully licensed centre stands out from traditional elder care facilities by offering a comprehensive range of services. In addition to dementia care, they provide stroke rehabilitation, post-operative care, cancer support, short-term and long-term live-in arrangements, and recently introduced senior day care services. The chairman Dr Balaram, a senior physician with more than 45 years of experience in the medical field, has a strong vision to cater to the diverse needs of their residents while fostering an environment that encourages physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Driven to make a broader impact, the team is now expanding their establishment. The second facility, right alongside the first, will not only fortify their objective but also expand their outreach to families in need. Nestled in the heart of Petaling Jaya, Golden Roots is set to transform the landscape of elder care.

In a society grappling with the challenges of an aging population and a lack of adequate elder care infrastructure, both friends stand as a testament to the power of compassion and innovation. By continuously striving to grow their brand and expand their services, they hope to shape a brighter future for seniors, one where they can truly live their golden years with grace and dignity.
